About
Welcome to Huni Yoga, founded in the beautiful location of Cornwall.
Huni is Cornish for ‘One’ and reflects inclusivity for everyone. The oneness or union of connecting body, breath, mind and spirit to ourselves, others and the environment around us. This is yoga, translated in its simplest form.
At this time, when health concerns, social isolation and emotional despondency are alarmingly high; Yoga can offer light into a more positive, peaceful, balanced and healthy future.
The ancient yogic philosophy and teachings makes for a resounding, all-round, holistic lifestyle approach. Classes might include: Sensory exploration and stimulation, memory stimulation, emotional regulation, physical exploration and movement awareness for health, opportunities to build independence, communication and resilience within a safe environment, life-long tools for self-regulation and self-care, creativity and sense of belonging and community through shared experiences.
Yoga is a journey of therapeutic discovery where people may gain the opportunity to sensitively re-visit past experiences, enabling new pathways to be created for a fresh outlook on their future. Yoga gives us the opportunity to live vibrantly with space, joy, playfulness and confidence to express ourselves. Yoga shows us that we are all directly and deeply connected and integrated with life.
Bess looks forward to meeting you, connecting and together remaining curious and open to a world of possibilities on and off the mat.
Yoga for all
Mackinlay and I began working together in 2017. She was studying Music Management at Falmouth University. The stress of her course and the constraints of being a full-time wheelchair user meant that the symptoms of her Cerebral Palsy worsened during the time she was in Cornwall studying. Yoga really supported Mackinlay and in her words ‘I’ve got my body back!’
